NINTH REBELLION ❅ VIDEO / ACTION [GOLDENROD CITY]
[Good morning, Route! The sun is barely up and already Isaac's broadcasting something. Clearly someone here's an early riser. This morning Isaac's sitting outside with several of Goldenrod's buildings in the background, surrounded by icicles. If you care to count, there are four Bergmites all clamoring for Isaac's attention and one Avalugg sitting behind Isaac. It looks like another Pokémon is serving as the cameraman today, though there isn't any indication which Pokémon it is.]
Hey, so I have a question.
[And as usual, Isaac doesn't know how to start this. He seems a bit more at ease today and is actually smiling for once. He's also dressed down, in just a dark green t-shirt and jeans despite the temperature and the surrounding Ice-types.]
I'm looking for sparring partners. Uh, human ones. I don't really spar with my Pokémon. Anyway, I've been here awhile and I'm pretty sure my fighting skills are beginning to suffer, so I'd like to work on that. I'm in Goldenrod right now, but we can always set something up sometime later. This isn't something I need immediately or anything, I just figured I'd see if anyone's interested.
[And then Isaac looks awkward, because how the hell does he end something like this.]
Uh, thanks for your time?
[Well, he tried. The feed cuts out there.]
[You know, when Isaac first evolved a Bergmite into an Avalugg, he was expecting something more impressive. Not that Avalugg isn't impressive, but ever since it was compared to a dining room table he hasn't been able to unsee it. It also doesn't help that Avaluggs are really slow. If you happen to be out around the southern outskirts of Goldenrod, you might catch sight of Isaac riding on top of that Avalugg like the world's slowest-moving beastmaster. There are quite a few Bergmites piled on behind Isaac, and they're sliding around with practiced ease on the slippery surface of the much larger Pokémon, never once risking falling off. Apparently we're riding in style today.
(This may or may not have something to do with the fact that Kimblee has an awesome Pokémon to ride on and it's been awhile since Isaac's blatantly copied Kimblee. This also may or may not have something to do with the fact that riding on a glacier was one of the biggest highlights of Isaac's life back home for a brief, shining moment before some brats showed up and ruined everything in the best way possible.)
This display of slow goes on for a few minutes before Isaac finally glances down at the Avalugg.]
I'd get back to the hotel faster if I was walking...
[He then proceeds to jump off the Avalugg, dropping the six and a half feet to the ground without injuring himself somehow. The Bergmites all crowd around the edge of the Avalugg, chirping down at Isaac excitedly.]
No, don't you dare-- You guys know I can't carry you--!
[Too late. INCOMING BERGMITES!! Since they weigh about 220 lbs individually, there is literally no way Isaac is going to be able to catch them all. Care to help or watch them crash into the ground and see if they shatter like regular icicles?]

[action]
Nonon isn't exactly in a decent position to see exactly what's going on over there, she just knows that there's a bunch of those icicles on top of an Avalugg and suddenly they're all running over to the side (as much as those things can be said to run, anyway) and...jumping off like those weasels that she's heard about. (Lemmings? Is it lemmings that do that? She's pretty sure it's not ferrets, though that was the first thing to come to mind...)
She's been out training this morning and it's obvious, her hair coming down disheveled from under her hat; it's also a lot colder than she's used to, given by how flushed her features are. But like hell if she's not going to look cute as hell anyway, and she's got what looks like a white flower pinned onto the hat in question - closer inspection, however, will make it rather plain that it's not a flower but a Floette just kind of...hanging on.
You know, as you do.
So let her just kind of pace around the Avalugg to see exactly what is going on over there; she's...kind of morbidly amused when she does, not even gonna lie.]
Having problems with the horde, Beastmaster?
no subject
A. Attempt to catch them and hope they don't all land on you and crush all your bones
B. Recall them into their Pokéballs so no one gets hurt
or C. RUN LIKE FUCKING HELL
the correct answer is always C, don't even lie.
Anyway, Isaac is surprisingly speedy for someone his size and he manages to GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE to avoid the incoming icicles. The Avalugg seems to be more on top of his shit than anyone else in the immediate vicinity and rolls his eyes before using an Ice Beam attack to create a super cute little ice slide for the Bergmites to land on and slide safely to the ground. This is why he's the one Isaac chose to train, he's actually smart!!
So now that the excitable mini-icebergs have all landed safely, Isaac returns to check them over. He glances up when he hears a familiar voice and immediately grins.]
I guess you could say that, though that's implying I attempt to control them in the first place. They just do their own thing, I'm only along for the ride.
[The icicles also turn toward Nonon, immediately chirping loudly to get her attention. All four of them are terribly spoiled when it comes to pets and treats, so don't mind them coming slowly closer.....]
What brings you out here? Training?
[omg so tiny and cute tho!!!]
no subject
[...these Bergmites are like the size of a small child, aka like two-thirds her height, jesus, hello. They're just sorta advancing there.]
Same for you, I'm assuming?
no subject
[DO YOU HAVE TREATS, TINY AND CUTE LADY]
Sort of. I figured I'd take these guys out to train for a bit, but they were more interested in trying to catch an Abra. They don't exactly have the best attention span...
no subject
...They also don't have the best speed, so I'll bet that was an adventure.
no subject
They tried really hard, I'll give them that. They found one sleeping and surrounded it. They managed to hit each other instead of it.
[It was pretty embarrassing tbh...]

[This guy looks pretty big but his best friend was built like a wall so it couldn't be that much different, right?]
no subject
[But you look pretty young... Well, it's not like it's the first time he's heard of child soldiers, or even seen them. Hopefully your world isn't as bad as Amestris...]
Yeah, hand-to-hand's what I mean. I never fought with any weapons.
[Except alchemy, but that's... uh. Well. It's very different.]
That'd be great though. Is there a day of the week that works best for you or something?
no subject
[Oh, it's just as bad. Maybe even worse what with humans being on the brink of extinction. And they send kids to fight the cause of it.]
I'm not busy this week or half of next! I'm actually still settling in so it could do me some good to get out about about again.
no subject
And man, why are there so many worlds where there are child soldiers, why is this a thing.]
Yeah, that's fine.
[He's not going to talk about war and all that horrible stuff right now, but wow, that certainly doesn't sound pleasant. You've been a soldier for longer than he was, congratulations??]
Oh, did you just arrive? Or did you move here...? Goldenrod's a great area, it's pretty big, but eventually you'll figure out where everything is. I'm usually just south of the city in the mornings, feel free to stop by whenever.
[...]
Oh right, my name's Isaac. Nice to meet you.

I've been here for a little over a year but I just got back into Goldenrod pretty recently. I think there've been a couple new stores that've opened up since I was last here now that I think about it.
[He's been trying to keep himself busy with working at that little video rental store so he hasn't bothered to poke around too much.]
I'm Bertolt.

Action/Sorry not sorry
[There are certain things that, after a few months in this strange and uncomfortable land, Cecil has learned to not expect.
The Night Valean in him, however, is still present enough to be wholly unfazed by all of this. So he keeps his distance, respectfully, because he has no idea what the hell is going on. There's only one thing that's even worse off than it was before...
The Avalugg. Which his Skiddo now appears to be licking. Sure, Cecil can try to pry her off, but he's not sure if that would be causing more damage than just leaving her there, and honestly? She kinda looks like she's having fun.
Hope you enjoy a Skiddo flying in the air in a cartoonish fashion with its tongue being the only thing standing between it and that molasses-tier bucket of ice you've got, Isaac.]
GOOD
Uh...
[The Avalugg either doesn't notice or doesn't care, he's just looking entirely done with everything right now. The icicles are far more interested and they all surround the goat and start chirping, asking a wide variety of questions that span from "Who are you?" "Where did you come from?" to "What does it taste like?" which just raises all sorts of questions that should probably never be answered.
Isaac finally notices Cecil and motions toward the goat.]
Hey, is this yours?
no subject
[OH. UM.]
I like to think that Cholla's a strong, independent goat who needs no master, but if you're asking whether or not I'm technically responsible for her...
Yes.
I'm still not sure why she licks things she shouldn't, other than the fact that it's in the nature of goats to do so.
no subject
I... guess? I've never been around goats, I wouldn't know.
[...]
But uh, isn't she going to get suck like that? I mean, he's made out of ice and it's kinda cold out here, so...
no subject
...point.
[He hadn't considered that until now, which should be, well.
REALLY WORRYING.]
You got any hot water? I mean, I never spent that much time around goats either, but there was a guy back home who could stretch his tongue to hideously infinite proportions and got into this type of situation...
So I'm guessing it's the same for goats?

I haven't really sparred against someone, but I'm willing to give it a shot. It's been a while since I had a fight, too.

But DUDE what was with that ending? Now Rin feels awkward.]
Uhm. I'm pretty good with a sword, if you're okay sparring like that?
[Because he's come to realize very quickly that demon strength =/= regular human strength. Which is what he has now. Which seriously sucks on every level possible. ...maybe this guy could teach him a thing or two as well.]
no subject
I've never used a sword before, so I can't really help you there. I don't mind fighting unarmed, if you're alright with that.
[He should probably get better fighting against people with swords considering what happened back home, um.]
no subject
Dude, you're built like a tank.
[Comparatively speaking, Rin isn't. And. He'd rather not be knocked out when he has work to do. He's ~responsible~. Hey... hm. Maybe...]
...What's your fighting style? Are you a street brawler? ...Boxer?
video;
It's been a while since I've done any hand-to-hand combat... but...
[ And it pains him to admit this. ]
I feel like my training's fallen to the wayside since I got here too so I'd be happy for any help I can get.
