NINTH REBELLION ❅ VIDEO / ACTION [GOLDENROD CITY]
[Good morning, Route! The sun is barely up and already Isaac's broadcasting something. Clearly someone here's an early riser. This morning Isaac's sitting outside with several of Goldenrod's buildings in the background, surrounded by icicles. If you care to count, there are four Bergmites all clamoring for Isaac's attention and one Avalugg sitting behind Isaac. It looks like another Pokémon is serving as the cameraman today, though there isn't any indication which Pokémon it is.]
Hey, so I have a question.
[And as usual, Isaac doesn't know how to start this. He seems a bit more at ease today and is actually smiling for once. He's also dressed down, in just a dark green t-shirt and jeans despite the temperature and the surrounding Ice-types.]
I'm looking for sparring partners. Uh, human ones. I don't really spar with my Pokémon. Anyway, I've been here awhile and I'm pretty sure my fighting skills are beginning to suffer, so I'd like to work on that. I'm in Goldenrod right now, but we can always set something up sometime later. This isn't something I need immediately or anything, I just figured I'd see if anyone's interested.
[And then Isaac looks awkward, because how the hell does he end something like this.]
Uh, thanks for your time?
[Well, he tried. The feed cuts out there.]
[You know, when Isaac first evolved a Bergmite into an Avalugg, he was expecting something more impressive. Not that Avalugg isn't impressive, but ever since it was compared to a dining room table he hasn't been able to unsee it. It also doesn't help that Avaluggs are really slow. If you happen to be out around the southern outskirts of Goldenrod, you might catch sight of Isaac riding on top of that Avalugg like the world's slowest-moving beastmaster. There are quite a few Bergmites piled on behind Isaac, and they're sliding around with practiced ease on the slippery surface of the much larger Pokémon, never once risking falling off. Apparently we're riding in style today.
(This may or may not have something to do with the fact that Kimblee has an awesome Pokémon to ride on and it's been awhile since Isaac's blatantly copied Kimblee. This also may or may not have something to do with the fact that riding on a glacier was one of the biggest highlights of Isaac's life back home for a brief, shining moment before some brats showed up and ruined everything in the best way possible.)
This display of slow goes on for a few minutes before Isaac finally glances down at the Avalugg.]
I'd get back to the hotel faster if I was walking...
[He then proceeds to jump off the Avalugg, dropping the six and a half feet to the ground without injuring himself somehow. The Bergmites all crowd around the edge of the Avalugg, chirping down at Isaac excitedly.]
No, don't you dare-- You guys know I can't carry you--!
[Too late. INCOMING BERGMITES!! Since they weigh about 220 lbs individually, there is literally no way Isaac is going to be able to catch them all. Care to help or watch them crash into the ground and see if they shatter like regular icicles?]

It's really stupid, Beastmaster.

[He's not sure what it is, but boy is it a thing.]
Where did you get her?

...And apparently if you flop her ears back over to cover the openings she stops yelling, so at least there's that much.

[NONON]

[AS IS EVIDENCED BY THE FACT THAT ARIA-CHAN IS NOT DEAD YET, PRESUMABLY]

[Weirder than breathing through their ears in general????? How does Pokémon biology work, we just don't know.]

[UNLESS THEY'RE JUST LIKE, FLOATING AROUND IN THERE OR SOMETHING
WHY ARE WE EVEN TALKING ABOUT THIS]
no subject
[SHE DOESN'T KNOW]

[Aaand with that she will just be finding the Pokéball, while the Floette hanging out on her clothes does the intelligent thing and gets under the hat, because holy shit does Celesta ever know what's coming.
And so does Nonon, who seems entirely resigned to this routine; she releases her nearby and picks her up immediately (all damn near 40 pounds of her, like she weighs absolutely nothing), but somewhere between the sudden cold and the person she doesn't recognize and the goddamn Bergmites everywhere, it isn't long before the screaming starts.
Like a damn jet engine in volume, Isaac, she's telling you.
Nonon lets her do it for a moment before she just...sighs, looks right at Isaac, and flops her ears back over.
And the screaming stops.]
Told you.

TOO LATE
The Bergmites go scurrying away as fast as their tiny legs can carry them and even the Avalugg looks pained by that noise. Isaac once again has that horrified expression on his face, but he manages to recover after the screaming stops. You know, even if that was the only way that Pokémon could breathe he wouldn't blame you for shutting it up, damn.]
That's-- That was the loudest thing I think I've ever heard.
no subject
[That said, though, she keeps holding her and awkwardly patting her once in a while, like she's not really sure what to do but at least an attempt is being made; the Whismur is just kind of...vibrating over there, but at least she's not screaming.]
Her name's Aria-chan, by the way.

[Especially as a starter, yikes...]
Ariachan?
[Uh, okay. Interesting name choice?]
I don't think I've seen a Pokémon like that before. What's the species name?
no subject
[No, really, why.]
Needless to say, I slept like shit for the first several weeks.
no subject
[He looks at the Pokémon, trying to figure out how to word it without horribly offending the pink thing.]
...um interesting Pokémon.
[HE TRIED SO HARD]
no subject
Yeah? What'd you end up with, anyway?
no subject
[HE WISHES HE WAS KIDDING, THANKS POKÉDEX]
no subject
...What the hell.

no subject
What, you think it eats people too, or...
no subject
I...
[--AM COMPLETELY HORRIFIED NOW, THANKS]
no subject
At least most of them don't attack people anyway?
