SIXTH REBELLION ❅ VIDEO

[The video opens to a rather tranquil shot of the Ice Path. There's plenty of snow and that slippery ice everyone absolutely hates. There's only the background music for a moment, and then suddenly a Darmanitan goes sliding by, spinning out of control. She slams into a wall and lies there for a moment, clearly dazed.]

[The camera slowly pans, revealing a few other Pokémon: there's a Shiftry half-buried in the snow, a Krookodile passed out on the ice in the background, an Abomasnow nursing a few bruises, and finally, a Kabutops who's currently in the middle of a fierce battle.]

[...With Isaac. The Kabutops seems to be doing all the attacking - she's swinging those scythe-arms around with repeatedly Slash attacks - while Isaac manages to avoid each swipe. His speed certainly hasn't suffered any here in Johto. Did you really think he'd be training like a normal person though?]

Faster! That's not going to cut it!

[He doesn't exactly sound pleased and the Kabutops picks up her pace immediately. She's certainly speedy, but that's nothing in comparison to Isaac's ridiculous dodging skills. One particular swing of her scythes nearly lops off his ponytail, and Isaac laughs.]

That's better! Don't back down now--

[And that's about when the Kabutops manages a hit; she slices downwards and catches Isaac's forearm with the tip of her scythe, leaving behind a rather thin, bleeding scratch. She immediately stops, bringing her arms in front of her and cowering slightly. It's obvious that she didn't expect to actually hit him.]

[Isaac stares at the scratch for a moment, eyes wide. It's not too bad and he's certainly had worse, but it's been awhile since he was actually injured while training. Then suddenly he's laughing and it's not exactly the most sane sound in the world. That causes the Kabutops to shrink even further away.]

[The video turns to focus on a Charizard who looks mildly concerned at best. He's looking a little worn too, but apparently Isaac didn't wear him out completely with insane training. The Charizard shakes his head before turning off the feed. Several minutes later, a text hits the network.]

What's the best Pokemon to spar with?

[He's pretty sure it's not a Kabutops. Just saying.]

Oh yeah, Claire was pretty difficult. I had Ice-types so I was fine, but Dragon-types are apparently pretty hard to take down otherwise.

[Isaac studies Emmy's Pokémon for a moment. Her Emboar looks incredibly powerful and her Hitmontop certainly looks like it would be interesting to watch in a fight.]

Well, I don't really have anyone else to spar with here, so I figure it's easiest to practice against my Pokémon. Bellatrix here is at the maximum level, so it's really more for my benefit than for hers.

[Though she's getting faster! Sort of!]

Well, I suppose I see what you mean, although I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of those scythes.

[[Seriously, Isaac, you're a madman. Not that she'd say that, of course.]]

You're much better off sparring a Pokemon born to do that sort of thing. A Fighting type, like Machi! Or even Teppi here, although she's not one for speed.

[[If it.....wasn't painfully obvious there. Have a weary wave from the S. S. Emboar down here, Isaac.]]

Yeah, I can definitely see why.

[Not that he really minds it. He kind of likes pain? It's weird.]

I don't have much in the way of Fighting-types. Where did you get these two?

Well, Teppi appeared out of nowhere on Valentine's Day - still not quite sure how that happened, but I'm not complaining! - and Ty here was an egg from the....Breeding Centre....

[[At the mention of the Breeding Centre, Emmy freezes.]]

Oh no! Ty, where is-?!

[[....when suddenly, out of nowhere, a pink and yellow blur flies into the chamber and crashes into the Emboar's side, squealing.]]

Ah, there you are! What did I tell you about wandering off, Foo?

[[And Emmy reaches down, picking up a tiny Mienfoo wearing an expression that....well, can really only be described as >:T]]

Goodness, I'm simply surrounded by Fighting types today! Foo here also came from the Breeding Centre, although I'd prefer you didn't try to spar her.

[[Have a giggle~]]

I wouldn't want you to get hurt!

You've certainly got quite the collection. And don't worry, I know my limits!

[He'll laugh at that though; it's good to see you again, Emmy!]

Oh, not too bad, I suppose. Well...

[[As she speaks, Emmy cuddles her Mienfoo a little harder. It seems pleased, although its expression doesn't change.]]

I have had a bit of bad luck recently, I must admit. Just...Team Rocket, and all that.

Did they attack somewhere else?

[He's been preoccupied with Kimblee lately - he should have been checking the network to see if there was anything happening. Dammit.]

Well, I....

[[Why on earth does this get harder and harder the more people she tells? Shouldn't it be the other way around?]]

.....I was the one that ended up getting attacked, really.

...What?

[Of course he remembers hearing about that "list" thing that was going around. One of the members was supposed to look after you, right? How the hell did this even happen?]

What happened?

[[Oh Isaac, if only you knew.....]]

I.....well, in hindsight it was a rather silly thing to do, but there was this Rocket Grunt shooting electrical attacks off the top of the department store in Goldenrod, along with another building; I engaged them in battle and came off second best. That's why I haven't been around lately; I was in the hospital.

[[She runs a hand over her ribs again, frowning, shifting Foo onto her hip.]]

It wasn't the most pleasant of retail experiences, put it that way!

[Isaac is silent while Emmy speaks, but his expression is tight and her attempts at lightening the situation go right over his head.]

I guess you don't know who was behind it?

[He didn't hear about the attack. Dammit, he really needs to start paying more attention to the network.]

Was anyone else hurt?

I don't know him personally, but...

[[Emmy pauses, hugging Foo tightly.]]

...I've told you about that man who sends me anonymous texts, haven't I?

...You think it was the same guy?

[Someone has it out for you, Emmy. Why the hell would he be targeting you of all people? If you were anyone else, he'd ask if you had enemies back home. But it's you. How could anyone hate you?]

I don't think; I know.

[[She has no idea; ask Archer.]]

He basically came out and said it. It certainly wasn't a very enjoyable experience.

Why the hell would they be targeting you? You haven't done anything to them, have you?

...perhaps you should sit down, Isaac.

[[This is a bit of a story, after all. Emmy slides off Teppi's back and seats herself on a rock, still cuddling her baby Mienfoo (who is still tsundering furiously, but details).

It's then that Emmy informs Isaac of everything that has happened to her regarding Team Rocket, from her very frosty first meeting with Archer, to the scene outside the Masquerade Ball, to the saga of the anonymous texts, the meeting with Lightning, the PGC....everything.

She does, however, tell him one small white lie; that Archer had been angry with her because Kimblee took her to the Ball, not because they slept together. It's just...not something you say to someone's partner, alright. Hardly ladylike!]]

...so now you know the whole story. Please, just....don't tell anyone. I'm trusting you with this. Especially not about the PGC, that's...it has to stay a secret.

[[Foo cuddles closer to her to escape the cold, and Emmy smiles softly.]]

I suppose it's lucky we met here; I can't think of a better place to have this sort of conversation.

[Isaac follows Emmy's lead, sitting on one of the rocks and folding his arms. He's silent through everything she says, but Isaac's always been an open book in terms of expression; it's rather obvious he knew about none of this - though there were a few things he figured for in regards to the Masquerade.]

[He believes her entirely, of course. Emmy doesn't seem like the sort to lie and Isaac can't see why she'd lie about any of this to begin with. This just brings up all sorts of uncomfortable questions though, and he's really not sure where to begin. He's sure Kimblee has told Emmy that he'll keep an eye on Archer, but if Archer has anything to do with the anonymous attacks, obviously Kimblee isn't managing that very well at all.]

Yeah. This place is pretty secluded. I don't see very many people here.

[But it's time to start figuring things out now. Isaac pulls on that single strand of hair that he keeps in his face, frowning slightly and letting it go once he realizes what he's doing.]

...Do you think Archer's behind the anonymous attacks, then? I know they're not targeted at you, but the fact that he seeks you out each time says something.

[Let's... start there?]

To be honest, I don't know. The man who attacked me on the rooftop communicated using a Psychic pokemon, so I have nothing to go off in terms of his identity. Not a voice, not a face...nothing. He just looks like a regular man of regular build.

[[Really, it's a fairly hopeless cause. She sighs.]]

When I fought Archer in Ecruteak it was fairly easy to identify him, anyway. He's a bit like that. I just....that man wasn't Archer. I just know it. But his real identity is a complete mystery and I've got no clues. Well, other than that he apparently really loves war.

[[Honestly, it's like a 100 picarat puzzle and she's got no hint coins to help her.]]

That's what he said to me, you know. The reason for why he was doing all those terrible things. He just loves war. Loves to pit people against each other, and see who comes out on top. Rather terrifying, really. Of course, apparently I'm a special case who needs to be 'taught' that the good guys don't always win.

I don't think I want this fellow as a teacher, really.

[Isaac listens to all that without saying anything. It's possible Archer has someone working for him, but the only person he's really close to seems to be Kim...blee...]

[Emmy's words aren't helping any. Someone who wanted to "teach" her? Someone who "loves to pit people against each other"? But it can't be Kimblee. He doesn't love war. Right? Of course not. He didn't like being in Ishval any more than they did. He didn't understand why everyone was getting so worked up about genocide, but that doesn't mean he enjoyed what he was doing...]

[But even if that was the case - even if Kimblee was that horrible - there's no way he could have been terrorizing Emmy like that. He's very fond of Emmy. They traveled together for a few weeks; if Kimblee thought Emmy should have been taught anything, he would have come right out and said it.]

[Isaac finally relaxes again; it can't be Kimblee.]

I can see why you wouldn't. Anyone who loves war has to be crazy.

[He hasn't said anything to Emmy about his involvement in Ishval and has no intention to. That doesn't sound all that incriminating, does it?]

You don't know of anyone else who has some kind of vendetta against you? I'm sure we'll figure out who it is and make sure they're taught a lesson themselves; but until then, I guess the only thing you can really do is watch your back.

[He's confident that Emmy can take care of herself, but it's still troublesome that someone would be targeting her specifically.]

[[That makes Emmy laugh softly, patting her Mienfoo gently on the head.]]

That's what everyone's been telling me to do. I don't know if I can watch my back much harder without growing a set of eyes on the back of my head.

[[Although maybe they have a point about engaging random crazy people on rooftops without backup....even though it is what she likes to do...]]

Say, Isaac...you've had a lot of battle experience, haven't you? I mean, military things and all that?

[...Emmy, honey, you really need to cool your jets... Isn't that the same advice you gave him? "Don't be so rash"...?]

I... yeah, I have.

[The answer is hesitant; the military isn't exactly something Isaac is proud of being a part of, after all.]

Why?

Well I was just wondering....we could really use someone with your experience in the Guardian Corps.

[[With any luck, Lightning will be proud of her for trying to recruit! At least, recruiting those who aren't clearly in Team Rocket, anyway.]]

If you were interested, that is.

Really? You think I'll be able to help?

[................herp...]

Yeah. I'd like to help in any way I can.

Ah, how wonderful! I'm sure Mr Kimblee will be pleased that you've joined the fight against the horrible Team Rocket!

[[Because why wouldn't he be pleased? This is....

...oh wait, just a moment]]

But Isaac, you have to promise me something.

[[Placing Foo down on the ground (where she...promptly scrunches up her face and clings to Emmy's leg all >:T), she moves over to Isaac and takes his hands in hers.]]

You have to promise me that you'll be careful. You and I are wanted by Team Rocket, so we have to keep this on the down low, okay? Have a chat with Mr Kimblee before you do anything. I don't want him to worry about you.

[[....and let her finish with a wink.]]

And I don't want to have to worry about you!
