SIXTH REBELLION ❅ VIDEO
[The video opens to a rather tranquil shot of the Ice Path. There's plenty of snow and that slippery ice everyone absolutely hates. There's only the background music for a moment, and then suddenly a Darmanitan goes sliding by, spinning out of control. She slams into a wall and lies there for a moment, clearly dazed.]
[The camera slowly pans, revealing a few other Pokémon: there's a Shiftry half-buried in the snow, a Krookodile passed out on the ice in the background, an Abomasnow nursing a few bruises, and finally, a Kabutops who's currently in the middle of a fierce battle.]
[...With Isaac. The Kabutops seems to be doing all the attacking - she's swinging those scythe-arms around with repeatedly Slash attacks - while Isaac manages to avoid each swipe. His speed certainly hasn't suffered any here in Johto. Did you really think he'd be training like a normal person though?]
Faster! That's not going to cut it!
[He doesn't exactly sound pleased and the Kabutops picks up her pace immediately. She's certainly speedy, but that's nothing in comparison to Isaac's ridiculous dodging skills. One particular swing of her scythes nearly lops off his ponytail, and Isaac laughs.]
That's better! Don't back down now--
[And that's about when the Kabutops manages a hit; she slices downwards and catches Isaac's forearm with the tip of her scythe, leaving behind a rather thin, bleeding scratch. She immediately stops, bringing her arms in front of her and cowering slightly. It's obvious that she didn't expect to actually hit him.]
[Isaac stares at the scratch for a moment, eyes wide. It's not too bad and he's certainly had worse, but it's been awhile since he was actually injured while training. Then suddenly he's laughing and it's not exactly the most sane sound in the world. That causes the Kabutops to shrink even further away.]
[The video turns to focus on a Charizard who looks mildly concerned at best. He's looking a little worn too, but apparently Isaac didn't wear him out completely with insane training. The Charizard shakes his head before turning off the feed. Several minutes later, a text hits the network.]
What's the best Pokemon to spar with?
[He's pretty sure it's not a Kabutops. Just saying.]

puzzlesinteresting things. At present, she's found herself scratching her head at the video she's viewing on her Gear. What on earth is that strange red Pokemon, and who-.....waaaaait a minute, that looks like the area she was just in! So she shuts down the Gear before the trainer of the red Pokemon is revealed, expertly making her way through the slippery caves without stumbling once. Because that's just how she rolls.
So when she emerges into said area, the sight of the trainer and his injured arm make her eyes widen.]]
.....Isaac?
[action]
Hey, Emmy. What brings you here?
[From what he's heard, most people hate this place. That's good for him, it means this place is never crowded!]
[action]
[[As Emmy starts to speak, the group of Pokemon she's got accompanying her finally make an appearance, sliding awkwardly down a slope on their stomachs. Well, her Emboar is, anyway; her Hitmontop had the brains to jump on top and get a free ride.]]
-on my way to Blackthorn City, to get my final badge; what about you? Training?
[[Teppi the Emboar slides within range of her, prompting Emmy to hop up onto her back with Ty, traveling over next to Isaac and leaving a trail of melted ice in their wake.]]
....rather brutal training, by the looks!
[action]
[Isaac studies Emmy's Pokémon for a moment. Her Emboar looks incredibly powerful and her Hitmontop certainly looks like it would be interesting to watch in a fight.]
Well, I don't really have anyone else to spar with here, so I figure it's easiest to practice against my Pokémon. Bellatrix here is at the maximum level, so it's really more for my benefit than for hers.
[Though she's getting faster! Sort of!]
[action]
[[Seriously, Isaac, you're a madman. Not that she'd say that, of course.]]
You're much better off sparring a Pokemon born to do that sort of thing. A Fighting type, like Machi! Or even Teppi here, although she's not one for speed.
[[If it.....wasn't painfully obvious there. Have a weary wave from the S. S. Emboar down here, Isaac.]]
[action]
[Not that he really minds it. He kind of likes pain? It's weird.]
I don't have much in the way of Fighting-types. Where did you get these two?

...he's not entirely sure he wants to try anything on the ice itself just yet, though the idea is tempting.
However! For the time being, he's content to simply be, and the cold is incredibly welcome after the heat of summer; at the very least he's not overdressed in here. And really, it -
..............................
...Isaac, please tell him you weren't actually fighting with that, ah, bladething over there, you're bleeding...]
So is this the training you were telling me about?
[He doesn't sound displeased; if anything, his voice is mildly amused, though that doesn't change how scrutinizing that look in his eyes is.]
[action]
Hey, Kimblee.
[Oh come on, it's just a scratch! No, it's literally just a scratch. He's had way worse!]
Yeah, it is. I mean, Bellatrix isn't the only one I've been sparring with, but she's one of the best ones I've found for it.
[Because it's very important to have that element of danger there, otherwise he wouldn't push himself as hard!]
[That said, he is looking for some bandages in that pack of his.]
So what are you doing in here? Did you need me?
[Kimblee would never admit that and Isaac knows it, but that doesn't mean he won't ask. Thankfully the tremors that have been bothering Kimblee for quite some time have died down. Isaac feels much more comfortable leaving Kimblee to his own devices now that he's certain Kimblee won't... have a seizure or something. The remnants of the mutation - the light blue coloring around his eyes and hands - have begun to fade and Isaac is far more confident leaving the house and ice caves now that he doesn't look quite so freaky. No, it doesn't matter that half of Johto has similar conditions. Shut up.]

That last question does get his attention, however; he doesn't seem bothered by it, at least.]
As unpopular an opinion as this may be, I do enjoy it in here as well, you know.
But to answer your question, it's nothing important. You don't need to take care of me, Isaac; I'm fine.
no subject
Yeah, I know. But you don't always need to handle everything on your own either.
[It's a simple remark and one he knows Kimblee won't take to heart. Isaac's the same way; he'll rely on himself before everyone else.]
It is nice in here. I'm kind of glad it's always deserted though.
no subject
Are you?
[It shouldn't come as any sort of surprise, really; Isaac's never been terribly social. At the same time, Kimblee usually doesn't directly think of him as avoiding social situations entirely; he knows that it's very rare that Isaac posts to the network, but...
...huh.]
no subject
[Obviously Kimblee is an exception, but outside of Kimblee and Emmy, he doesn't seek very many people out for company. Social is hard and no one understands, etc.]

[voice]
So, where are ya 'bouts?
[voice]
The Ice Path. It's the only way to get from Mahogany Town to Blackthorn City - the seventh and eighth Gym Badges are there, so most people pass through it at some point.

[Seriously man, Envy fights with his Pokemon all the time and not even he would try that.
Probably.][text]
[YOU'RE NOT FUNNY, ENVY >:| ]

hey, you're the one who asked. do you have a Lucario? they're fighting types, I spar with mine.
and they have spikes on their fists, so it should still be plenty sharp and dangerous enough for you.
[text]
[Isaac has tried... Arian has the attention span of a flea though, and actually getting him to fight is like pulling teeth.]
I find Kabutops easier to spar with.
