[A text hits the network around noon. It's very short and to the point, though it's not specifically addressed to anyone.]

How do you tell the difference between someone you're just friends with and someone you're romantically interested in?

It's something that he knows he probably should do; he has no empathy, but he has enough experiences and knowledge of the world to know that what he's doing is probably cruel. This isn't going to end well and he knows it; if he has any moral inclinations whatsoever, now is when he should stop.
