[Isaac shrugs that off after a moment and attempts to provide an explanation.]
I was a State Alchemist. We worked with the military and our orders were to end a war that had lasted for years. We were ordered to kill and there wasn't anything we could do but obey those orders.
[There's silence for a moment before he continues.]
I left after that. I didn't want to be a part of a military that resorted to killing more people than necessary. We could have won the war without murdering everyone. But... There was no point to the war to begin with.
[More silence. Isaac decides against telling Ouka exactly what happened afterwards.]
I was working to stop the military when I found myself here.
The holocaust was an annihilation of a group of people back in my world... it happened years before I was born, but everyone knows about it. Horrible things happened. Everyone that was considered of a certain group of people were rounded up and either made to slave in horrible conditions with very little food, or just killed on the spot...
[ Falling silent, and then shaking her head a little. Her voice is a little cheerier when she speaks up again. ]
But thankfully, that isn't going to happen nowadays.
It's good that you were working on stopping them. Someone has to.
[Isaac is silent, listening to Ouka's explanation of things. It sounds even worse than what happened in Ishval. He hadn't thought that was possible.]
I'm sorry to hear that. What happened in my world wasn't that bad.
[...He doubts he'd be able to live with himself if he had participated in something that bad.]
Yeah, I know. There are people here who come from... later than I did, I guess. They're realizing just how bad a shape our country's in and they're trying to help.
[ Why yes. She may have obsessively talked about how excited she was that he was coming to get her and how much he loved her while you guys were traveling together...
... Just failed to mention who he was.
But, she doesn't exactly look happy about him right now. ]
He's... Omi-kun is someone I cared a lot about back home. I even got him to go to a party with me! And I was going to introduce Papa to him.
... But he's Mamoru-kun now. ... Oniichan.
[ You probably don't know what that last word means. But she says it with a great deal of uncertainty ]
[ Goddammit, she doesn't even know what to call him anymore. ]
One of his friends knows someone... Hughes-san, I think, who's offered to pay for the hotel room we're staying in. But... I don't really know what I'm doing here.
video;
Oh! Because you were in the military and all, you mean?
video;
[You know, it would be easier to avoid this topic if he didn't actually look kind of upset by it.]
video;
... Was it bad?
video;
[Sorry, but you're not getting any more information than that without asking! Isaac doesn't lie so...]
video;
The police force in Japan doesn't really do much. But once Father gets elected... he'll change that, I'm sure.
video;
[Well, do-nothing police forces are better than being sent into a war in order to kill off everyone.]
video;
[ Talking helps, right? She's totally helping, RIGHT? ]
video;
...Yeah. Yeah, I did. It wasn't... so much a war as it was an annihilation of a group of people.
[Isaac is silent after that. Normally he always keeps eye contact, but now he's focused on something off-screen.]
video;
What? Something like the holocaust, you mean? That's horrible! Why would you...
[ Stops. She likes you, Isaac. But... are you saying you were a Nazi? 'Cause that's just not cool, man. ]
video;
[Isaac shrugs that off after a moment and attempts to provide an explanation.]

...Thanks. For letting me talk about this. It's... a relief to talk about it, I guess.
video; 1/2

video;
He was a friend of yours, I take it?
video;
... Just failed to mention who he was.

I don't know what that means. Did he lie to you about who he was?
[Well, he is a paranoid thing...]
video;
Oniichan. My... brother...
[ Pausing to think about this. ]
I don't think so. He resembles Omi-kun, kind of. And he knows a lot of things about me. His friends claim it's true too...
Isaac-san, have you met someone here who claims to be from years into your future?
video;
[Wait. That doesn't make any sense.]
Maybe it's some kind of joke or something?
[It would be a very cruel one, but he's no stranger to cruel pranks.]
...Kind of. I've heard about things that happened in the future in my world.
[...After he died...]
video;
He said that he was from my future. And that... he learned in the future that he was my brother.
video;
[And kind of horrifying...]
...What are you going to do now?
video;
[ Goddammit, she doesn't even know what to call him anymore. ]

Or if I even want to stay here, at all.
